BANGALORE:Wipro Ltd, India\'s third-largest software exporter, on Friday reported a 10.3 percent rise in its consolidated net profit in the third quarter, matching forecasts, boosted by a weak rupee.
Net profit hit 14.56 billion rupees ($285 million) in the three months to December, up from 13.19 billion rupees a year earlier.
Revenues rose 28 percent to 99.97 billion rupees, by international accounting standards, the Bangalore-based company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Earlier this month, India\'s IT giants Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys Ltd showed strong quarterly profit growth, but said the global sentiment for the sector -- dependent on demand from crisis-hit Europe and the United States -- remained uncertain.
